Understanding your dreams


When we sleep triggers a cycle of four states that is repeated numerous times throughout the night. It is during the third stage, called REM (Rapid Eye Movement), when we dream. Some people think that they ever dream, what happens is that they can remember.

The dream has functions of clearing and reorientation. It is possible that a dream may appear when required to make important decisions. If a dream becomes recurrent, may be forcing you to find a solution until you've solved again.

Some dreams staged archetypes. For example, the moon symbolizes the feminine and the masculine sun. These archaic images, described by the famous psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung, are universal symbols. There are periods in which we are less in touch with our subconscious. Every time a person faces a problem, the dream starts to send messages. In moments of life in which there is a psychological development, there may be a work from the inside. The recollection of the night dreams usually something important when starting psychotherapy.

Nightmares are an expression of anguish resulting from the unresolved tension in the area aware. The nightmare may be related to a current event that poses a problem to the person. Through the dream, the attitude is changed and the problem is sorted. Other nightmares correspond to past events that we have repressed. The dream will recur until the situation is resolved. Hence the need of many people to get outside help to become aware of the existence of a problem.

Tips for understanding dreams

If there is some dream that worries you or intrigues you, do the following:
  • Write down everything you remember just waking up, characters, landscapes, object shapes, colors ... Write what you feel even though it seems there is no point
  • Never forget that some dreams are more accessible than others. If a dream seems too difficult to move to another
  • Be guided by intuition, but do not make hasty interpretations
  • Consult a dictionary of symbols, will give the keys to better interpret dreams
  • Strive to describe the colors, feelings and try to relate these feelings with your daily life, your concerns and reasons for joy to discover the relationship between your day and nightlife.
